West Rand Cycles was established close to 25 years ago by Eben Venter in a small corner of his dad’s lawnmower shop.

Eben was an avid cyclist at that stage and his passion quickly turned into a business idea. It didn’t take long before the bicycles were starting to outnumber the lawnmowers on the shop floor, forcing Eben to move to the store’s current location.

After many years as the go-to local bike shop we entered into a partnership with Specialized in 2012 and have been a Concept Store ever since.

West Rand Cycles has always been about honest advice and good service. We found that the best way to serve our clients was to align ourselves with a brand that is world class in terms of back-up and support. Over the last 7 years we have gone from strength to strength together with Specialized and we look to continue long into the future.

A company is only as good as its staff and the team (or rather family) here at West Rand Cycles are extremely passionate about getting people onto bikes and seeing the joy that this sport brings them. We pride ourselves on honest advice and going the extra mile for our customers.

West Rand Cycles is unlike many bike shops, we have a very warm and welcoming atmosphere; the smell of coffee fills the air and Zoe the Border Collie will quickly bring you her ball to throw.
